Deaf Hoosiers lost two games to University HS girls 49-13 and boys 53-32. We recognized Seniors night. Mr. And MissOriole go to Tony Long and Jasmine Jeter both freshmen.  Over 400 people watched the games and Seniors getting awards..

ISD Champs at Midwest Academic Bowl 
Five ISD High School smart students and two coaches attended the Annual Gallaudet Midwest Academic Bowl games with Oklahoma, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin at Oklahoma Deaf School on February 4-6. Deaf Hoosiers beat them all and the team will go to Gallaudet University for the 2010 Academic Bowl National Championship on  April 24-27, 2010. For more information, go to

Please tell your legislature to vote yes to HB 1367:  Indiana Public Education Emergency Funding Act
In order for a school corporation to preserve and protect instructional programs and learning opportunities for all students (including class sizes, curriculum, or program offerings) and to prevent school employee layoffs, a school corporation shall take all reasonable actions. Since Governor Mitch Daniels is planning to cut $300 million of the state budget that support the funding of public school in the state of Indiana. Please contact Representative Bauer, Speaker of the House ASAP (before it is assigned)!  His phone # is 317-232-9629 and e-mail is h6@iga.gov .  ---Many Mennonite and Amish live on the farmland of Northeastern Indiana. One of the United States largest Mennonite congregations is in Bern. According to Amish ordnung (rules) they are forbidden to drive cars, use electricity, or go to public places of entertainment.
 ---At one time Studebaker Company of South Bend was the nation's largest producer of horse-drawn wagons. It later developed into a multimillion-dollar automobile manufacturer.
 --Indianapolis grocer Gilbert Van Camp discovered his customers enjoyed an old family recipe for pork and beans in tomato sauce. He opened up a canning company and Van Camp's Pork and Beans became an American staple.
