Jean C Imboden 1921 - 2008
Jean C. Imboden, 87, of Jacksonville, died Monday, Aug. 18,
2008, at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
She was born Feb. 26, 1921, in Jacksonville, the daughter of
John B. and Kathleen Walsh Coonen. She married William H.
Imboden Jr. on May 26,1947, in Jacksonville, and he preceded
her in death Nov. 7,1990.
She is surived by two sons, Williams H Imboden III (wife,
Mary) and Mark A. Imboden (wife Susan), and one grandson,
Conner Imboden, all of Jacksonville; two sisters, Claire Coonen
and Paula Coonen, both of Chicago; and serval nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Coonen
Surviving wife Marie of Franklin); and one sister in infancy.
Mrs. Imboden was a 1939 graduate of Routt High School and a 1943
graduate of MacMurray college, She then received her master's from
Columbia University in New York and began her carrier as a teacher
at Illinois School for the Deaf, retiring after 40 years.
She was a member of Church of Our Saviour and was active with
Catholic Daughter of America and the Altar and Rosary Society.
She had also been active the MacMurray Alumni Association.
She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with the her family,
especially her grandson.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 A.M. Friday at Church of
Saviour in Jacksonville, with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Friends
may call after noon Thursday at Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home on
North Parise Street in Jacksonville, where the family will meet
friends following a 4:45 P.M. Prayer Service until 7 P.M. In lieu
of flowers, memorials are suggested to Routt High School or
