Advertising pageThis was created to be a tool used by people with news, event announcements, things for sale, and anything you would find in a newspaper. We have opportunities for local Deaf News to operate from this site, whether it is a local club, statewide or national organization news by one individual or many. It can also be open to the public or be a private list. We are still in the early stages and are open to suggestions for improvement. The original moderator, Ray Kenney, had been distributing news in Rochester, N.Y. Gary Meyer met with Ray to discuss a problem both had. Gary wanted a more centralized place to put his advertising and Ray wanted a centralized place for all deaf related news. As a result of this meeting a project was started. More specificially we wanted to resolve the problem which was what is going on elsewhere. For example, you may be considering a vacation trip to Rochester, N.Y. but wanted to know what was happening in Rochester, N.Y. next month. You can check Deaftimes.com and click on Community Calendar and make your plans according to what is being promoted in Rochester. So Ray and Gary decided to create such a website. For the members of the Deaftimes.com, you can select what news you want to see and how you want to see it. You can get the news individually or digest or in website only. You can choose all news or just your local news. Currently we are improving the public calendar to be set by yourself: ie. what you want to see at a specific location, locally, or everything. Any of the moderators that want to join or move to Deaftimes.com are more than welcome to join us. Simply send us a note to be added to our e-group department.
